if the independent technician uses a factory authorized scan tool with the approved interface, they can do the work at the customer's location, or they can take the vehicle to a chrysler certified repair facility, or they can take the vehicle to any shop, and they will most likely be paid to do the work. if the independent technician uses a witech application, they can do the work at the customer's location, or they can take the vehicle to a chrysler certified repair facility, or they can take the vehicle to any shop, and they will most likely be paid to do the work. the independent technician can either charge the customer for the service, or the independent technician can ask the customer to pay a charge of $25.00. if the customer does not have a witech application, they will be forced to pay the $25.00 charge.
as far as i know, there is no plans to release another witech application at this time. this would be a great time for your company to release a new application that allows the independent technician to be the master of their own destiny. if a non-can vehicle is brought to the independent technician, the independent technician can plug the scan tool into the interface and the scan tool will operate. this is where a new application that bridges the technology gap between the independent technician and the new vehicle is needed.
